December 1, 201213 yr Hi, I posted a couple of questions regarding historical weather several days ago but still have not received any reply, so I thought I'd try again. Can someone tell me what the negative value in ( ) means in the wind layers part of a weather report? For example 068@(-2). Also, when viewing the weather report to a historical date, the METAR and TAF show the correct historical date but below from the AIRMET section down the dates are all the current date. Why is this not the historical date? Thanks. Tom
December 1, 201213 yr Negative values mean the wind is blowing backwards. Ok, I'm kidding... give us an example of a historical date and location to check out. While the METARS will show the correct historical data, the various Met/Reps will be for the current time and date. I don't know if anyone keeps historical Met/Rep data. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! December 2, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the help, Hook. An example would be the 14th of November this year, at the AVP vor in Pennsylvania, flight from KAVP to KUNV, at 6K feet, it shows 349@9(-6). I think I may have figured it out. I saw a similar report in a video that did not include the ( ), but could it be the temperature? Regarding the historical date vs. the current date for the SIGMETS and AIRMETS, I just wanted to make sure I didn't forget something that prevented it from displaying the 14th dates data. Thanks again. Tom
December 2, 201213 yr In the format you just posted, I'd expect that to be the temperature too. Glad you got it figured out. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
December 7, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi, Just to confirm that yes, this is temperature, in degrees Celsius. Airmets/Sigmets/Pireps are available for real-time only, at the moment. Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
