that pesky default view

hey guys, I was wondering how to change the ai planes/aircraft view, I don't like that ai view 45 degree angle thing and I would like to have locked spot view when I click an ai plane from the list. It would also work for super traffic board as well. I have been searching the net but I am surprised it hasn't been brought up. Thanks so much guys.

One of the few things I miss from FS9 is the locked spot view. When I switched over to FSX several years ago, I spent a lot of time figuring how to recreate the the locked spot view from FS9 in FSX to no avail. I believe that the locked spot view was something hard-coded into FS9 which is no longer there. I don't think it can be created externally, but I would be happy to be wrong.

I don't understand what the problem is with the 45 degree angle thing. All you have to do to change it is turn NumLock on and hit the arrow keys in the numpad to spin the aircraft around.

For the locked spot view press S until you see spot view then A and let the camera effect fix on the plane and then you're done.

Click on Views on the menu across the top of the screen ...View Modes / Outside then click on Locked Spot View, then save the flight as your default. Or, to do away with the normal spot view altogether, open the Cameras.cfg which is located with your main FSX.cfg. Scoll down to where it says [cameraDefinition.003] Title=Spot and look for Track= FlatChase. Change that to = FlatChaseLocked. Close and save. Your spot view will now always be locked.

it looks like it was solved when I reinstalled airound. I don't know what that did but it fixed it so I am not going to question it. The program It must have "remembered" my settings from earlier. Thanks for all your help.
