Can you add fog to a metar ?

Featured Replies

Hi

I programmed a flight from Charles De Gaulle to Birmingham in the PMDG with ORBX EU and Opus last night as I wanted to see how realistic it looked at EGBB as it was really foggy. I have to say it looked sensational ....... Thanks Steve and Cheryl for this fantastic add on. I have been looking through your files in the live weather pdf about creating your own imported file. As this flight was so realistic I want to fly it again and again. Is it possible to create a metar with fog with low visiblity and if so could you show me an example of a metar ?

Thanks Paul

The visibillity part of the metar is the fog thing.. really..

Hi Paul

You could have saved the dynamic weather as a theme, the button is in the weather dialog. Alternatively you can import your own METAR with fog by setting either FG or setting the vis to 1000 meters or less, less vis equals more fog.

Thanks Cheryl

Just noticed about the possibility of you building a library of downloadable weather scenarios in your notes. Sounds like a great idea !!

We have got one weather theme download on our gallery webpage but our users tend to save their own and swap amongst themselves.
