December 16, 201213 yr Hi guys! I am looking to buy an extra joystick for flying fighter jets. I already have a pro flight yoke with extra throttles and switch panel and pedals. Next to this, I have a VERY old thrustmaster joystick, from which I think is called "USB Game Joystick". I am looking to replace it for flying fighter jets. I am willing to buy something expensive such as the X-65f, but is it worth buying, or should I go for the X52 or X52 pro. Or maybe with the HOTAS Warthog? Which would you prefer? (If a make any purchase, should I buy the combat rudder pedals to replace my current standard rudder pedals?) I guess the question is, which should I buy and should I buy rudder pedals specialized in combat? Thanks!
December 16, 201213 yr Author btw, I will mainly use it for FSX and maybe ARMA 3 in the future. (and I never use the A-10. I just use the VRS F-18, Aerosoft F-16, Dino Cattaneo F-35, IRIS F-22) And can anyone give me some detail on what aircraft in real life uses force sensing? Like with the X-65f?
December 16, 201213 yr To my knowledge, no aircraft use force sensing at all, but dont take that as the last word... I looked at the X65 and was totally put off by the non-moving stick, its just not reali-stick lol... If cash flow allows, then I would have got the Warthog HOTAS, but I went with the X52 Pro in the end. Very happy with the X52 Pro, no problems with it other than using it on an overclocked PC seems to make its screen go weird, but I wouldn't look at it anyway if it wasn't. I'd still love to have the warthog, but I got the impression its huge compared to the X52, and its throttle has to be lifted up to get over the detents for reverse thrust or afterburners.. Richard... F-16, F-22 and F-35 have a non moving stick with force sensing and future fighter jets will have it as well, because it is more accurate to fly with. Therefore, it is pretty realistic.
December 16, 201213 yr See, told you I don't know... Didn't expect the F16 to have a force sensing stick... Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
December 16, 201213 yr Author See, told you I don't know... Didn't expect the F16 to have a force sensing stick... Its ok. Just want to know which joystick to get. I think I will go for the X-65F. I love the design, buttons and above all, the force sensing is really tempting and realistic. Thanks though.
December 16, 201213 yr If money is a problem then perhaps, understandably, my recommendation will be superfluous, but if you want what is IMO simply the finest stick on the market, then I suggest you read this post... http://forum.avsim.net/topic/385989-thrustmaster-hotas-warthog-to-buy-or-not-buy-info-wanted-pls/ HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
