Using IE 9 here. When I attempt to post or edit an existing post for the first time in a session, I always get a hang. I see the small green "progress" bar with the animation, but it hangs there. Then when I back up and reattempt the post, it works the second time (but if I don't copy my post to the clipboard first I lose it). When I click the "edit" button as the first posting activity in a session I will get the hang immediately...if I click on it a second time, it works.

 

I have a friend here in town seeing the same behavior.

Same thing happens to me. When I post I have to copy my post into the clipboard, hit the back arrow to get the main screen, and then go into the thread again and repost and paste my clipboard into it and it works fine. Always works the second time but 80% of the time it won't on my first try.

Bob, I hate to say this, as it has been said over and over ad naseum... It's IE. This problem has been discussed by me in this forum and I am sure you can find that post by doing a search. The long and the short of it is that IE runs out of memory or refuses to allocate memory (don't remember which).. and the result is the "hang". IE10, interestingly enough, does not do that, but is filled with other flaws. Only solution is to use anyone of the many other browsers out there without so many faults.
