Photoreal ground textures

Is there a TileProxy equivalent for X-Plane? Can we display photoreal ground textures via sites like Bing Maps on X-Plane just as we can on FSX with TileProxy?

BTW, what's the highest ground texture resolution on X-Plane?

Thanks...

Yes, g2xpl. However it does not create the scenery in real time like TileProxy.

There isn't any hardcoded limit in the scenery system. The bottleneck is in the hardware we have today. Now that the 64 bit step allows us to reach the next level, video RAM will probably be the next bottleneck, and then bus banwidth, and so on...

As a matter of fact, the hardest part is to find very high resolution orthophotos.

Indeed that's why when I upgraded to a GTX680 I made sure I got the 4GB version.

Actually talking of photo scenery I tried a nice one of La Reunion over at XPFR.

The usual caveats apply with photo scenery but flying through the mountains was quite breathtaking!
