Im getting a good deal on a GPU but I need to know if there is any benfit in FSX or BF3 or COD when running a single monitor rig with a 4 gig GPU vs. 2 gig?

I currently have a GTX 680 with 2GB and I'm running three 25" monitors in Surround at 5874 X 1080 in FSX. I'm easily getting 50 FPS in default aircraft and around 30 in the NGX at add on airports. Sometimes less. So if you are powering a single monitor setup you should be fine for FSX. Not sure about COD or BF3. I assume you would still be fine. Especially only using 1 monitor.

4GB is better for GPU.

2GB is fine for up to 1920x1600.

If you are only powering 1 monitor at 1920 X 1080 or 1920 X 1600 or even higher 2GB is plenty. If you get a 4GB card, you are spending an extra $100 for 2GB or more that would go unused unless you were running 4 monitors at 1920 X 1600 each. Then you might consider a 4GB card. Save yourself $100 and go with the 2GB card.
