Not sure what is causing this, all FSX smoke textures are black blocks / squares

 

any idea?

 

this pic shows the tyre water spray as black textures

 

I get the same effect on tyre touchdown and smoke coming from airport chimney / air vents

I'm glad that's solved your problem. It happened to me once, but I wasn't 100% sure about solution.

Some addons are overwriting your FSX gauges, and then if you uninstall addon - the gauges are uninstalled too. This utillity just put back original gauges. This is the explanation, in case somebody need it
