December 27, 201213 yr for some reason, almost al of my instrument panel views have gone! Whenever i load a plane in fsx and do the key command for the GPS for example, a black box flickers where it should b and then disappears! then when i click on the views, instrument views button on the FSX toolbar, its show a tick next to the GPS button even when its not there. This happens for almost all my instrument views but then some still work. Also, not sure if this is relevant or not, but i dont seem to have a Gauges folder in the FSX files (not sure if there had ever been one though!) Anyway, hope someone can help,
December 27, 201213 yr not sure if this is relevant or not, but i dont seem to have a Gauges folder in the FSX files There is a gauges folder so your installation appears corrupted. Simply reinsert your FSX disk and select repair when the options appear. You'll have to do the same if you own Acceleration. If you just have SP1 and SP2 installed, just double click SP1 and select repair and then run SP2 and select repair. Unfortunately it will bring all of your settings back to the default but you'll have your gauges folder installed. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! December 27, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the quick reply! By repairing FSX, does that mean that all of my addons, ai etc will be lost meaning that i will have to reinstall those addons?
December 27, 201213 yr Thanks for the quick reply! By repairing FSX, does that mean that all of my addons, ai etc will be lost meaning that i will have to reinstall those addons? You can save your dll.xml, and the working scenery.cfg (located in C:\Program Data folder). Your fsx.cfg will be replaced and you should not use an old fsx.cfg in a new install or repair. You might need to add the line for the SimObjects path in the Main section of your fsx.cfg depending on the AI program you have installed. It will not touch addon scenery or aircraft. When you restart FSX, you will be asked if you trust all those gauges, etc., again. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
