December 28, 201213 yr Hello guys, Im having a bit of a problem. I bought an entirely new system for fsx(I7-3770k/ GTX670 FTW/ 8gig vengeance ram 1600mhz/ Intel ssd/ Seagate barracuda hardrive/...) . And i was hoping to get a 30 fps average because i saw many people with the same specs getting this. Now i put my system together and i only get around 17fps on the ground and around 25 in the air. My system is overclocked to 4.2ghz and i tried to tweak it. But nothing seems to work. Maybe you guys can give me some tips. My Soul Is In The Sky

December 28, 201213 yr Try and overclock to at least 4.5+ - better cooling ? And yes - use Word Not Allowed's guide
December 28, 201213 yr Depends also on your add-on´s. Complex a/c like the NGX in combination with e.g. gex/utx/rex.... @ high resolution can give a big performance hit.
December 28, 201213 yr it's not easy to OC an Ivy bridge even with nice cooling. I have the 3570k and the max for me is 4.4 with 76° temperature when 100% loaded. I am at 4.2 like him because i don't feel comfortable with 76°. (at 4.2 my max temp is 65-66°) (my cooler is hyper 212evo) If you want to go 4.5+ you need water cooling and de-lidding, i think.
December 28, 201213 yr What add ons are you using? I have the same setup with the 680 and still get fps in the teens in heavy areas, but i run a ton of add ans. I recommend that you follow kostas guide and also oc your cpu much more. I got my 3770k stable at 4.9 on air, using ic diamond 24 paste, the hyper evo 212 in push pull, with two 200mm and two 120mm case fans. Also turn off ht.

Your cooler isn't up to the task. I've seen 4.6-4.7 without de-lidding using better off the shelf cooling.
December 28, 201213 yr Author Ok guys thanks for the tips. And im going to push my overclock to 4.5 Ghz. I think my corsair h100i cooling wil be able to handle it. And i will give the tweak website a try. Thx for the responses My Soul Is In The Sky
