pmdg folder appears on clean reinstall

Featured Replies

I have followed the pmdg guide on a complete de install of add ons and fsx to the letter. After re installing just fsx I noticed a pmdg folder with files was still there. I assume I need to do more to get to a clean state. Can anyone with a bit more brain power than me give me a pointer.

Double check that you have deleted all the folders specified in the guide. After uninstalling all FSX components, manually look in the common program data file locations for any possible remnants or suspicious leads. There may be some remnants left, but these are usually within easy reach, as you found out after reinstalling. If you are really worried, you could use Windows Search to search for items labelled "FSX", "PMDG", etc., although this process could be tedious and increase paranoia.

Perhaps you could also try running a registry cleaner such as Advanced SystemCare or CCleaner after uninstallation and prior to reinstallation.

Thanks for the reply Owen the reg cleaner sounds like a good idea . It does seem that a lot of odd data is still resident and being a pain. I just want to avoid a full reformat .

Try Revo uninstaller. The free version does fine, and it goes through the reg & stuff
