FSX wont install with my Windows 8 "Error 1722" HELP!

Recommended Posts

If you just bought new PC and you have not install much apprications yet,

Probablly, Reinstall OS might be best way to solve this problem.

Try Recovery or clean install of Windows8 and activate Administrator account, turn off UAC,then install FSX again.

And if that error happens again, might be some problem in Samsung PC. I hope not...

I did that. I wiped the OS a few days ago and it installed FSX just fine, but deleted the driver I needed for my HD7730m 2GB graphics card, so I restored to the factory image and deleted most of the software except the graphics driver. I'll keep trying to fix the 1722 error

You might want to explore the following tool. It's another avenue toward a possible solution.

I will try that. Thanks.

FSX will not delete any drivers.

Dave

FSX didn't delete any drivers. The system wipe did. I reloaded the factory software on there and deleted most of everything except the graphics controls

JJ, it didn't work. it checked for problems relating for install, and had me chose from a list, but since the install for FSX didn't let it install all the way it wasn't on the list. any other ideas??

Our situation looks very similar!

My case was that,I was running FSX on Windows8 Pro with no problem.

But couple days ago, windows update install some update files automatically, and I restart my PC.

After that, Windows8 never start???

So,I forced to "Refresh" Windows8 from DVD boot and success it, but all application were gone!

Then I reinstall all applications including FSX and encounter 1722 error.

Common point between my case and your case is having error 1722 after reinstall OS.

Did you format your drive before reinstall OS?

I did not format my drive, so Windows(old) folder was in drive C:.

I remove windows(old) folder by disk cleanup, but I think some of files still having record of FSX and UAC prevent overwrite files.

I succeeded reinstall FSX by UAC off, changing access rights and doing procedure I wrote yesterday.

But your case, still having error, I think UAC causes this problem.

Did you try shutting down UAC by registry edit?

If no, I suggest trying it,then do procedure I wrote yesterday.

And still having error, try format drive and reinstall OS.

Yasuki.

To stop UAC from gegistry.

First, Set UAC slider to lowest level and restart PC.

Then, open registry eidtor, and open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Check values following 2 items.

1)EnableLUA

2)ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin

If values are not =0, change them to =0.

And also check value for

3)FilterAdministrationToken

Change to =1 if not.

(Back up current setting before change!)

And try to the prcedure again.

This is very dangerous setting for security, please do not forget restore normal setting after install FSX.

(Back up current setting before change!)

I hope this works.

In case it fails, Last thing to try is complete recovery OS.

Your PC should have application for recovery, and may have some options in it.

Choose option like "recovery with format drive C:"

(Be careful, all files in your PC will be erased!!)
