January 5, 201313 yr Hello everyone. Thanks to PJ and other talented stuff here, I have made a decision to switch to DX10. I have read almost everything in this forum and come to the point: 'I guess I will stick to DX10!' I have few issues, maybe someone have seen it or even fixed this: - lights ave visible only from certain angle (A2A Shockwave and Airport vehicles landing lights, UTX night lightning). My guess is - nothing can be done here... - bloom effect - I do not see any difference between enabled and disabled. When enabled, the sun is smaller than a plankton. Could it be the custom halo.bmp? - when i have Overcast and thunderstorms, I have huge triangles appearing all over the screen when the lightning strikes. It looks similar to issue reported in JS41 when icing effects are enabled. I do not see this triangles in DX9. Do You fellow simmers have seen this? I would really appreciate any help, guidance. January 5, 201313 yr OK, bloom issue solved - I have installed DX-10 optimized REX texture That should fix lightning as well, IIRC A word about bloom. This should be off all the time, because the effect is way way over the top in FSX. Basically this is a "white wash" reflection from white objets like the top of the wings and fuse. Allot of AC have great spec maps that already do a good job of this effect on their own. In fact, bloom will usually destroy the look of well done AC liveries.
January 5, 201313 yr Author I have lowered the bloom effect by modifying the General10.fxh file, but I think it will be switched off in a few days. Also, I have found, that these graphic artifacts are present when GPU memory usage is somewhere above 1100 MB. My guess - disabling the HighMemFix will crash the sim in those situations. Yup - this fixes it so that it's more like the ENBseries thingy. I get artifacting pretty much only when I push my road traffic up above, maybe 35. I use it as a measure of how far to push the rest of the settings; i.e. as, say AG moves to its maximum, then artifacting might start, spo I lower the cars and move other things up a bit more. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
