January 5, 201313 yr Hi Guys After I upgraded Microsoft Office 2007 to 2010, FSX crashes to desktop especially when I load Leve-D 767. Is there anything I can do? Shall I re-install FSX? and if I do so then I will loose all the add ons I purchased. Your help will greatly appreciated. I have Windows 7 64bit stelios Stelios Christofides
January 5, 201313 yr You could check your . Maybe there's a module listed which would deliver a clue on what's happening. You are looking for those red error messages in the applications section.Shall I re-install FSX? No. Way too soon. Lets look if there's a cause and what can be done about it. Maybe Office just changed something on the VB stuff. if I do so then I will loose all the add ons I purchased. A backup makes sense. One of the installers you've got and one of your current FSX installation. By this, you always have a source to grab files from. This avoids the need to reinstall in most cases. And with a lot companies, you can download your software again. Nice touch.
January 5, 201313 yr stelios: The first step I would take is to delete (or rename or move) the fsx.cfg file. When you then start FSX, it will rebuild the fsx.cfg with original settings. This is standard maintenance for many of us and easily reversible if you renamed or moved the file. Give it a try and see if that helps. Good luck! MajorvV
January 5, 201313 yr Stelios: Go to the Level-D Forum, and do a search for "dll.xml" . The new office installation may have affected this file, and there is good info there on how to repair it. This is not uncommon with the Level D 767. - Roger
January 5, 201313 yr Author Guys THANK you so much. What I have done so far is to delete the fsx.cfg file and restart FSX and so far (touch wood) is working. If it does it again i will check the windows event log as CoolP suggested. stelios Stelios Christofides
