January 13, 201313 yr I have tried: ForceFullScreenVSync=1 ForceWindowedVSync=1 NInspector : Adaptive, Force On, 1/2 frame rate Nothing works. At spot view, there is no screen tearing, but in VC, there is a lot. What can I do? Mehmet Yatan
January 13, 201313 yr Hi Der Stig: In the "How-To" doc. 1/2 Refresh Rate, and "Standard" are the two settings in Inspector, set 30 fps in FSX, and then put "DisablePreload=1" in the [Display] section of the fsx.cfg. That will fix it! :good: PS - don't use these for DX10: ForceFullScreenVSync=1 NInspector : Adaptive, Force On, This one is the only way when in windowed mode. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
January 13, 201313 yr What if you switch back between full screen and windowed? I dont have the luxury of an extra laptop so i fly in windowed mode to go back and forth for charts etc. On approach and takeoff im in full screen. So should both the ForceXXX settings be used? January 13, 201313 yr 1). Full screen vsync: a). Is controlled by Inspector: - set as these Inspector samples show here: Two entries at the bottom. B). In FSX - set the frame rate to 30. c). In the fsx.cfg - set "DisablePreload=1 under [Main] Nothing else. 2). Windowed Mode Vsync: a). Is controlled by adding "ForceWindowedVSync=1" in the [Display] section of the fsx.cfg. Nothing else. OK? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
January 13, 201313 yr Yes got it thanks. I just got the impression that it was one or the other and the settings cant both be used. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
January 20, 201313 yr The first time testing DX10 and so far... good performance but I experience some stuttering occasionally because (I believe that´s the reason) I cant get the Vsync to work. With DX9 and Word Not Allowed´s tweaks it worked with the ForceWindowedVSync=1 (always in window mode), 30fps in fsx and 1/2 RefreshRate in NI. When I set fps to unlimited it would never go higher than 60fps. To get WindowedVsync working in DX9 I had to do the WindowsAero OFF/ON tweak after launching fsx. But with DX10 I´ve tested all and when I set unlimited fps frames run up to 100-200fps ! What I`am doing wrong ? Help appreciated ! Sorry my poor English !
January 20, 201313 yr ForceWindowedVSync=1 should work. We also add "DisablePreload=1" in the [Main] folder. Try that, let us know how it goes! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
January 21, 201313 yr Word Not Allowed´s Quote dazz, on 11 April 2012 - 12:09 PM, said: If you use standard Vsync at half the refresh rate, you basically have a frame rate limiter at 30FPS, so why limit it in FSX then? Because FSX system is working differently when unlimited vs limited. And if you don't limit and use VSync only, you get unlimited in windowed. Ok, got it !
January 21, 201313 yr Yees, to fix the micro-stuttering I set FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.40 with just a minimal loss of fps ! I think I´ll stick with DX10 for now, can live with the few issues (night lightning/textures). Thank you so much Paul and Steve for your effort to make this possible !!
January 22, 201313 yr DisablePreload=1 no longer work with NVidia 310.90 drivers. For fullscreen mode I use small program called D3D Overrider. This is a part of some old version of Riva Tuner tool.
