Ian & Chris,I don't have MSN Messenger on my task bar. I have never activated it I guess. Windows Messenger activates itself. I was a MSN customer 2 - 3 years ago... I want nothing to do with them since.When I say that Windows Messenger activates itself... I mean of course before I applied John's fix. :)

To disable Messenger do the following:GO to StartRungpedit.mscOnce Group Policy editor opens, go to:Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsWindows MessengerIn the right side pane, double click "do not allow windows messenger to be run"Click the Enabled radio button and it will not load again.
