St.Martin area maps or charts?

Featured Replies

I'm interested in flying in this area (Princess Juliana to St.Barts is an amazing flight to say the least, the landing at St.Barts TFFJ is simply a feat on it's own).Even my own atlas does not have an expanded map of this area. Anyone know where I might get some FREE charts or map for this area on-line?XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ

I agree this flight is quite amazing! By the way, speaking about maps and charts: in the old days there was made the following distinction: Map= greater part depicted is land; Chart= greater part depicted is water.Paddy.

Try Vatsim Caribbean division.

This Caribbean island is divided into a Dutch part called Sint Maarten and a French part which is Sint Martin. Princess Juliana is the name of the airport on the Dutch part and is named after the Queen-Mother of the present Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands.Paddy.

Hi,Am also flying in the are quite a lot at the moment (lots of oversea flying in a single engine cessna 172!!)Am using:area chart - wac from http://www.aeroplanner.com simcharts (payware but good value if you want a lot and don't mind printing / taping together tons of A4 sheets!!)st. maarten - free nima plates for princess juliana from https://164.214.2.62/products/digitalaero/t..._south_america/st. barthelemy, st. martin grand case - from faa ifim (http://www.faa.gov/ats/aat/ifim/) country listing for Guadeloupe got link to antilles area aip with good free airport and some enroute charts (http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/html/frameset_aip_uk.htm).st. eustatius, saba - for some airports couldn't find charts but got some info from worldaerodata (http://worldaerodata.com/) and also dangerous-airports.com(!!) (http://www.dangerous-airports.com/airports/s/saba.htm)hope this helps :-shyPierre

Hi, not really an answer to your question regarding a FREE chart, but I use the Aeroplanner WAC (CJ27B)as well. The expired digital chart is quite affordable, and a direct download. To cover the freeware part of your question - with the FS Flight Max Chart Viewer from the library you have a full screen moving map with this chart. In addition I use J-27C and K-27B TPC paper charts for the Virgin Islands. These charts are monsters to handle (3 by 5 feet) but covered with chart foil to make the durable they are simply amazing.

to correct you:the Dutch part is called Sint Maarten, the French part Saint Martin. In English the name is Saint Maarten. There's a WAC, I think it was J27, for the area.

Took note. Thank you,Paady.

There's no charts for Saba because the airport is officially closed.Operations are permitted only with special permission from the owner and pilots get special training for that.Daylight operations in good weather only for a visual approach, no navaids (so no IFR operations).St Eustachius: TNCESt Maarten: TNCM

Mount Scenery on Saba is the highest point within the Kingdom of The Netherlands (2877 feet / 877 m)and the asphalt-runway of the airfield on Saba is the shortest runway of all commercial airports / airfields in the world (1300 ft / 396 m).Paddy.
