August 18, 200421 yr I have just got a new Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card. I think I haveread here that antialiasing should be turned on from windows not from within FS. I find no way to turn on or off antialising from Windows XP Pro. How should that be done? Should I then have it turned off inside FS settings?
August 18, 200421 yr Turn off the antialiasing in FS9 and then click on StartSettingsControl PanelDisplaySettingsAdvanced3DDirect3D. Put a check mark in the box called Custom Settings and then click on the Custom button. Uncheck the box called Application Preference and set the level of anitaliasing to 2X, 4X, or 6X, click Apply then click on OK, OK, and OK.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 18, 200421 yr To force AntiAliasing settings from Windows:Control Panel->DispaySelect the SETTINGS TAB->ADVANCED BUTTONYou should have a set of ATI Tab.select 3D TAB->PUT A CHECK MARK on the option USE CUSTOM SETTINGS->select CUSTOM BUTTONTurn Off Applcation Preference. From here you can select the Number of AA Sample for your card Higher samples equal lower performance. All this is dependent on the single assumption you do have the Catalyst Driver and ATI Control Panel software properly installed. If not, please go to ATI website and get the Catalyst Drive and Software.
August 18, 200421 yr I will try that. At present it's on from inside FS and I must sayit seems not function very well. The graphics seems more blocky know, even if other parts like speed is better
August 19, 200421 yr Commercial Member Make sure as well that you completely removed the driver for your old card and deleted your FS9.cfg and let FS rebuild a new one for the new card too. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

Is it just to renameFS9.cfg and start FS? What I experienced was that some of me settings in FS has changed and I also have a problem with FS recognising my CH rudder toebreaks.
August 19, 200421 yr I assume you must have done it, but nobody mentions to get the newest driver from the net. My 9600 Pro didn't work with the driver it came in the CD and after getting the new drivers the change was substantial. The 9600 settings (I guess the 9800 are the same) can be changed by opening the Control Panel, then Display, then Settings tab, then Advanced. At that moment you get the ATI window. Change the Antialiasing and Anisotropic both in the Direct3D tab and the OpenGL tab. Also to improve the way FS looks, increase your screen resolution. These cards can take a lot of load.Hope this helps,LeoAlso change your
