January 31, 201313 yr The first time I've attempted this route. I've had CTD in same location > between Richmond (Indiana) VOR and Rosewood (Ohio) VOR while heading NE at FL290. It happened two flight (attempts) in succession in nearly the exact same spot on the route. The departure is KMEM and destination is LFPG. Aircraft is PMDG B748F. Setup is Win7-64, FSX, FSC, RCV4, FS Flightkeeper. I do not have any 3rd party add-on scenery installed in this part of the USA, and I would look for duplicate afcad / bgl files but it's been awhile since I've had a problem like this (last time was near the PYE VOR near KSFO) and I don't remember what needed to be done to isolate the problem. Any tips regarding troubleshooting will be welcome. Best to all, Ken Ken Boardman
January 31, 201313 yr The best troubleshooter is to look at a crash report. Please download and run AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and then copy and paste the report here so we can take a look at the possible cause(s). Right now I'm suspecting FS Flightkeeper. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! January 31, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the reply and suggestion Jim. I downloaded and ran the program; however it didn't report any events later than 1/22/2013 (after sorting the reports by date). It did show several FSX "Stopped Working" events from mid 2012. Seems strange that it missed reporting the two most recent ones. I discovered tonight that the problem does not occur when traffic is disabled. I unchecked "My Traffic" in the scenery library and moved the traffic "sliders" all the way to the left and then successfully completed the KMEM-LFPG route. Best regards, Ken Ken Boardman
January 31, 201313 yr I unchecked "My Traffic" in the scenery library and moved the traffic "sliders" all the way to the left and then successfully completed the KMEM-LFPG route. So I hope you are in the process of uninstalling/reinstalling MyTraffic. At least now you have access to a crash report program that provides details of each crash in the event something happens in the future. Glad you were able to investigate and pinpoint the cause of your problem. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
