I love this plane but it's let down by little things that seem to be missed for some reason. I have noticed that when again viewed from the outside the Air Speed Indicator is missing from the panel, and also if you have a look closely to the left side of the co-pilot foot well there is no modelling at all just an empty space. That airline is just hovering in mid air.

 

 

You can't do everything; you can't take forever doing it; and so, you have to prioritize.

 

Do these little things detract from perfection? Sure. Do they matter in the ongoing experience of the plane? Not for me, at least.

 

All in all these are errors you won't find in, say, A2A Simulations' work, but then again every small developer is different, and there's no knowing what resources they do or don't have to bring to bear on development.

 

I'm just grateful they're all as good as they are.

 

I've dealt with grognard perfectionism for years, in multiple places, and my final assessment is: nothing is perfect.

 

Look closely enough at anything and you will find stuff that - if you obsess over it - will destroy your happiness. The volume button on my iPhone is looser than I'd like, for instance.

 

Anyways, I hope Carenado will take note of all the issues raised and as best they can correct the most glaring.

 

If they don't resolve everything, well, the SR22 as it stands is really a lot of fun to fly, and gorgeous to look at. That's all I, at least, really need, or expect from this plane.

Hi, I agree with you 100% but surely Carenado is no small setup. If your going to put in some working gauges to be viewed then lets do it or not at all. IE put in non operational gauges in.

I have no idea, but I bet few to none of the teams that make FSX third-party add-ons is more than a very few people, with people who come on board on a per-project basis.

 

Just a few people, a lot of hard work, teamwork and then testing.

 

PMDG may be the rare exception.

 

Carenado count polygons and vertices on 3d objects used to ensure it can function on midrange computer. If 3rd party product has high polygon and vertices and textures have poor mapping then I do not buy it. High poly and crap textures do happen.

I'll add one:

 

The TKS fluid and fuel filler cap placards on the right wing are reversed with no apparent way in the texture sheets to flip them (i.e. only one set of textures used on both wings). Maybe Carenado was hoping we wouldn't look that closely. ;-) Also, the text below the window is reversed on both sides but that one should be fixable by users.

That's what happens when you use only one texture to mirror an opposite side, you are going to get an error like what you found. The red text on the doors I have taken out completely. I have tried in doing a new one but failed. :(. They always say the best BETA testing team is the general public. In all I am very disappointed in this aircraft. it's a nice looking aircraft they have done but that's where it stops. Sadly taken out of my hanger and back flying the Carenado BARON 58, or Carenado C208B Grand Caravan or Carenado Skymaster 337
