Freezing displays in-flight

Featured Replies

My displays and FMC have been randomly freezing whilst cruising. However when I click them to make them bigger they're not froze in the pop-outs - same story with the FMC. Ironically I've only really noticed it happening over the North Atlantic Ocean. I have no idea on what can be causing it?

Cheers

Edit* - Also my clock, pressurisation altitude windows, switch lights all freeze too.

Hi

I have this issue with the 747X and MD-11X, when flying over the water with no near airports. I unfroze the displays by going to the exterior view, then right click, and select virtual cockpit from the list.

I also noticed this issue happens whenever 'Nearest Tower' view is not available.

As far as I can remember this is a problem of FSX. As soon as you are out of radio range of any of the FSX ATC stations the displays will freeze. Next time your displays freeze check the FSX ATC menu, and you will see that the list is empty.

Wiebe allready said how the fix to this.

Ah okay I'll try that next time. I generally just let it come back as it only happened for a couple of minutes. However today it did it for a good 10/15 minutes! Thanks.
