February 8, 201313 yr So I purchased the Alaska DLC during a sale but never got around to trying it. I decided to give it a go today, but after spending 1.5 hours trying to get it to work, I'm about to give up. If I go into the Windows Live client thing (without starting the actual game), it shows as "Installed". If I go to the map screen in the game and select Alaska, I get a message that says "Downloading content" for about 2 minutes, with a spinning circle. Then I get a message that I need to download "additional content". I click OK and get "Can't retrieve information from Live. Please try again later. February 9, 201313 yr The Flight servers have not been shut down. Have you tried to go the "Marketplace" from the main Flight screen? There are a couple of additional files you have to download that are necessary for the Alaska DLC to run. Try to d/l them from Marketplace and see how it goes. Thank you. February 9, 201313 yr Just started Flight to see if I needed to get the AotD and the servers are down. Same thing happen yesterday, though they came up later in the day. Best suggestion is to keep an eye on the little network symbol in Flight and catch it when it's not blinking.
February 9, 201313 yr Hi Jimmi, Try this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3050235 I always use the GFWL Marketplace client and that has always worked for me, but there are no guarantees. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
