RAAS for FS9

Featured Replies

Hi

A product I recently got, an FSX add on has RAAS feature. Reading a review about it here on AVSIM makes me wondering if it is compatible with my fs9 aircraft such as Airsimmer, Qots and Leonardo Maddog (although I doubt MD 80 uses it). I aflso remember a thread/post that discusses about free RAAS add on. I tried 2 links so far from a comment of AVSIM review but both links are inop. It'd be great to have it for free but if the FS2Crew one offers a lot better and complete features I might consider it.

A bit off topic but is the Honeywell device applied to almost all airlines and types of airplanes?

Thanks

I can't answer most of your questions, but I can tell you that the freeware FS9 RAAS works very well. About the only deficiency is that the audible warnings when you are approaching a runway come very late, just as you are almost on the runway itself. I can't imagine in the real world it would be that way as it really would not stop a runway incursion in time. But other than that it works perfectly and doesn't seem to have any penalty on performance...

Cheers mate

Ian

It'd be great to have it for free

Search for FsRaas V2.0 here in the Avsim library. Works a treat. Personally can't afford the FS2Crew version however it appears not to be without its problems as well.

Okay will try that for sure. That's right, imo, it's a bit pricey, I am not saying it aint worth it thou. Thanks

Have the FS2Crew version and all I can say is that was money very well spent. I have not had a single issue with it and there has been no impact on frames whatsoever. Can't compare it the the free one as I have not tried it.

Joe Esposito
