February 17, 201313 yr I am routinely flying the King Air C90 which has been updated and is my favorite XPX aircraft. I have noticed that If I fly a flight with auto pilot and land, everything works fine. If I leave the same airport and fly an approach or do anything else with autopilot, it will not work. It may seem to work, but shortly after engaging, it will turn off (with warnings) and do crazy things. By crazy things I mean that it will not follow the headings or altitude which I have programmed into the system. It is almost as if I have not cleared the previous settings. Maybe I haven't, but I have turned everything in the autopilot system off and back on again. Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, is this normal or not? I can quit completely, restart XPX and continue on. My quick flights have been to leave KROA, fly 120 degrees at 3900 feet until under GS, turn to 240 degrees with APPR set, allow it intercept RW33 at 109.70 and land, then reset for another exact same flight. No luck. Any observations (helpful) will be appreciated. John John Wingold
February 17, 201313 yr Has it happened after your install got upgraded to 10.20 final? I am installing X-Plane10 right now (because I believe the Saab will soon be available ;-) ) and will give the C90 AP a test asap, and report back... Reading disk 6 :-/... then the update will follow, so, still at least 1hr before 1st flight if one is still possible today... February 18, 201313 yr I've just made a night flight in the KingAir from SBSP to SBSP, ILS APP, AP disconnected by me on final at 200FT, full stop, taxy, take-off to SBGR, ILS APP RWY09R, AP disconnected by me on final at 100FT; using ALT and HDG hold many times, along altitute changes, no problems found, smooth flight on AP.
February 18, 201313 yr Author Yes jcomm, It has been happening for some time now and I thought it was just me. (and it still may be) It will hold throughout any first flight, but will not work once I have landed and start again. It doesn't matter where. I gave the above flight description as an example that I have used as a short flight to check things out, but I can fly to a distant airport and the return flight will do the same thing. I just can't get back home with AP. John John Wingold
