Crew Not Working, Why?

Featured Replies

I recently purchased FS2crew bundle for iFly 737 NG and have downloaded both Voice and Button Control (now twice). So far I have had some luck with the button version ie; the BR flight briefing works in departure and approach modes; FA call button works, have ordered drinks, warned of delays, etc.( but have not heard the delivery of food); The PA works fine for all messages; VM panel OK; CFG no problems but not sure how the AES, doors, gate arr and dep are supposed to work,;LK, LT, vol, cab, all OK.

However, the left side Preflight Checklist, Start Engine 1, Takeoff, etc.?? Nothing happens. I thought that there was going to be the captain and FO discussing the checklist items, takeoff commands, starting engines, releasing brakes, but there is nothing So what am I missing or what do I need to do? What should I be seeing or hearing?

On the Voice Button side nothing works that I can tell versus what I see on the videos on Youtube.

I have tried a fair number of things, but can't see where to go from here, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program what should I do? Please help a fellow simmer.

Hello Brian,

Have read manuals several times. What do you mean by "assign a key to the Main/Secondary button so you can run the checklist?"??

Are you talking about the propeller de-ice, auto feather stuff? Yes I did. What do I do with these keys maybe that's the trouble? Do I have to press them each time I use crew2 or what?

Correct, you press them (the Main Button) to run through the checklists and flows.

You press the button to proceed to the next step.

So you'll be pressing the button a lot.

If you're pressing the button and you don't hear anything but something appears to be happening, then check you audio setup.

Bryan,

Thanks again, you talk about using the MAIN button "a lot", what about the SECONDARY button?

Also I seem to have read that the first time I should start in "windowed mode", what is that? And if necessary to do how do you get into it?

Yesterday my 737 went into the whirling mode and nothing would stop it. So I uninstalled fscrew2, but that didn't stop it. So then I uninstalled the 737 itself and reinstalled it, and as of tonite it has quit the swirling, but it has made me nervous about trying fscrew2 again. The 737 Con. Fig Mgr. was not functioning in choosing flight models however I did not try to fly "unloaded" so what went wrong and has this problem occured ?

Looking forward to your reply,

Ben

Hello Ben,

Aircraft spinning: You need to add 'weight' to 'each' model in the iFly Config Manager then click save.

If the aircraft loads totally empty with no weight, it will spin around after it's loaded.

Windowed Mode: Toggle Windowed/Full Screen mode using SHIFT + ENTER. It'll be obvious what's full screen versus windowed when you execute the toggle.

Secondary Button: Please check manual one more time.

Cheers,

Bryan,

Well I finally got button control working and enjoyed it for 2 days, then problem time! I am not getting any sound from the right side activities, nor any sound from BR, FA and PA.

On the left side actuating commands with "x" key does produce the expected movements on my ovhd and mcp (flap movenents, fuel switches, electric switching, etc.). What has cut out my sound?

Everything on the config button seems ok.

The only sound I have heard is a FA giving the pre-flight "welcome put your seat belts on this way". I don't know what triggers this activity, but at least it still works.

I haven't used the right side much but the same items as usual still seem to be coming up.

On a slightly different note I can't seem to get the adjust wheel on volume or cabin to work. Assuming that clockwise turns the volume up the only movement I've gotten is a slight movement CCW and a decrease in output. The pointers started out at about the 10 oclock position which is too low for my aging ears.

Also doing the Shift+Enter did not give me any change in screen.

Once again I await your words of wisdom;

Hi Ben,

For sound, check your speaker setup in your Audio Control Panel.

FS2Crew uses the right rear channel for many sounds.

Make sure you audio config is set to "stereo".

Cabin volume: Not sure, set it to full blast.

Full Screen: Pardon... try ALT + ENTER.

Bryan,

The problem is not with the speakers, they are working fine and in stereo and "config" recognizes them by name and model.

The question is how can it go from working and then to not working the next flight I flew about 45 minutes later.

The problem is I cannot get the "VOL" and "CAB" "knobs" to "turn" and increase their volume, they do move a little bit in the decrease direction which is what I don't want.

Your thoughts please; Ben Metcalfe
