Will SLI benefit my extra 2 monitors?

Recommended Posts

Hey chaps,

As the question above suggests...my set-up is pictured below....

HZ9nO.jpg

As you can see i have 2x27" monitors for my main display (linked as one via my Zotac splitter) and 2 x 19" panels for the undocked gauges...

If i get another GTX670OC card, will it benefit the displays enabling them to run more smoothly at all? I think i understand that FSX doesn't benefit from SLI so my angle is from the display side of things... any ideas?

Thanks as always!

Doug

Hi,

I guess if you run 1 27" on each GPU it might help.

I love your setup, how much space do you need under your 27" for the 19"? I dont think my stands go up high enough!

Thanks for that...it works really good as the PFD and ND are life size...so easy to see!

Underneath each 27" i have 280mm...that's enough for the 18.5" to sit without encroaching on the 27" s above... they are on a small lean backwards of course... the stands that hold the 27"s are extended to there absolute max...i had the 'chock' them up so they could do this with 64mm bits of timber... which you cant see as behind the lower monitors..

Cheers!

you achieve to have 4 monitor on only one nvidia card ?? with the two DVI output used for the two gauges screens, you still can use the display port ?

Indeed! I have the top 2 x 27" monitors on ine HDMI outlet using the Zotac HDMI splitter which makes the pc see them as one monitor... the other 2 x 18.5" are in each DVI port... and you are correct - there is still the display port to use if needed... i thought i would be taxing the card to much by plugging another monitor into it though...

What about two cards, but not SLI-connected, anyone knows if that would work? Or is it still just a matter of cpu...
