fsx stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not quite a CTD, but I hope someone can help with my problem.

FSX works perfectly, but after exiting the program, I now get a message box informing me that fsx has stopped working. The problem details give the event name as APPCRASH, and the applicable file is fsx.exe. Additional information gives 0a9e whatever that is. There is an ooption for Microsoft to fix the problem, but when selecting this there is no improvement.

As I say, this doesn't stop the simulator from working, bit it's annoying getting this message every time I close the program.

Any ideas as to a cure ? All help would be appreciated.

What you received was a StackHash_0a9e crash. It's okay if the crash occurs when you close fsx. It won't hurt anything. The only way I know of to get rid of a StackHash crash (memory stuck at address 0a9e) is to reinstall Windows and then FSX. I had a similar crash (or the error message was showing up after a successful flight and only when I closed FSX), so not really a crash. I recently reinstalled Windows 7 and have been slowly reinstalling FSX and so far I don't get the crash. If you closed FSX in full screen, try closing FSX in Windowed mode (click on alt-enter then close the window). My 'crash' only occurred if I closed FSX in full screen mode (Ctrl-C). If I closed in Windowed Mode, no problem. Eventually I think the memory will be released but right now it is stuck at that memory address.

If you want to see more details about your crash, download AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and it will show you the faulting module.

Best regards,

Jim,

Many thanks for your reply.

I'll try closing the program as you suggest, but to go through all the hassle of removing add on aircraft, removing fsx, then windows and re-installing again isn't worth the bother.

I can live with it.

Hi Ron,

That's a smart move. You never know too that it could somehow fix itself somewhere along the line.

Best regards,

Jim

I had it to but it fixed itself only happened at the end when close fsx so no big deal for me anyway. Wayne.
