hmm, no problem with spot view here. I don't think that's cuased by any of the fixes in this thread as I think I'm using all of them...

Hey Zevious,5 are in beta testing right now. If you want, give me your email and I'll send 'em to ya now. No problems encountered so far.AdamP.S. Danowatt, sorry about this intrusion into your thread.

Adam,I am unfamiliar with the 681 variant; must be a fairly rare one. There was some thought to the 680FL but shelved as Mr. Nikki Schumann is working on that. ;-)I also have all the factory drawings for the 685 so that is a possibility one day, but no plans. The Dash 7 renewal project has been on hold for a while now and I am rather hoping to get back to that as the current project. With that said, all my gmax models are available to use as reference or to improve upon if someone wishes to take it on. ;-)

Well, I am glad that we have that sorted out, it seems wierd that the 2 entries in the panel.cfg would cause such a pronouced difference, but like I said earlier I dont mind losing the compass ;)Great plane anyways, love it, now if someone would make the Jetprop 840/980 or the 685 Turbo, that would be sweet, hmmm, never satisfied are we? :-lolBTW, your site seems to be down Milton, I guess its something to do with the bandwidth due to the Shrike release ;)CheersDan.

Dan, you're just full of good news lately. :-)The site is working fine for me and has all morning. :-)EDIT: LOL was until now... The 685 was a piston model. The 690 was the same aircraft in turbo power.Well, seems the honeymoon is over and we're off to wanting something new on day 2. Seems like 9-18 month projects aren't really worth it. :-/

Thanks Milton, I may well be wrong on the number though I thought the pilot called it a 681. It is infact a jetprop as Dan mentions. I'll post a pic later of the paint. Thanks again, Adam

L.I.B. :-)I show the 685 with Continentals GTSIO - 520F - 425 HPKnow what the T stands for? lolHowever, when you check this site, it clearly indicates the 685 as a piston model. :-/http://www.aerocommander.com/aircraft.aspIt also fails to mention the 681 variant. Interesting.

LOL, don't get too discouraged Milton. If your planes weren't so damned good people wouldn't hound you nearly as much for more. :D The Shrike really is great and I predict I'll be spending a significant chunk of time in it... :)

Thanks :-) I must be getting tired ... worked on this issue until 3:30AM, then back up at 6:15AM. lol Sorry that came across as terse .. it probably was. ;-)

Milton, thank you for all your great Commander series aircraft, they are truely one of the greats of the sim addons :)They are my primary GA Aircraft for sure!Looking forward to the Dash-7 very much!!

Ahhh, this excerpt from the site clears it up: Stretched Piston Models At the same time, Commander introduced a series of stretched piston twins which eventually led into the turbine models. These models include the 680FL, 680FLP, and 685. The 685 is essentially the same airframe as the 690 turbine, but with 435hp piston engines. Turbine Commander The Turbine powered Commanders evolved from the 680FL airframe into the 680T/V/W models. Later models include the 681, 690 series, and all models through the 1000. The turbine birds were all powered by variations of the Garrett TPE331 engine which eventually put out up to 1000 shp per side. Many of the turbine models have been completely rebuilt under a factory "Renaissance" program to better than new condition.

Milton, I think your group's Aerocommanders are the best freeware planes available. I don't think there is any other plane, barring DreamFleet's 734, that I have logged so many hours on (PT-BUF). I think I can speak for many many flightsimmers when I say that the Aerocommander series is absolutely top knotch. Please don't get discouraged!I will post a pic of the 681 after I dig out my digital camera. I think it's on there.ttyl, Adam

>Well, if you would like some help resolving the issue, please>share more information about the problem. Thanks for the offer of help Milton - much appreciated.Since my last post I tried again with all the same panel mods apart from the gauge33=//fpda_gear_wind, 1,1,10,9 andgauge14=//fpda_gear_wind, 1, 1 ,10,9 which I returned to default and tested again and in the spot I had the CTD the PC locked solid and needed a reset. It turned out to be the dreaded infinite loop problem (see below). //// Watchdog Event Log File//LogType: WatchdogCreated: 2004-08-29 15:11:51TimeZone: 0 - GMT Standard TimeWindowsVersion: XPEventType: 0xEA - Thread Stuck in Device Driver//// The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop. (self built AMD3200@3300, A7V880, Raptor 74Gig HDD, 1gig TwinMos DC, X800 Pro, WinXP SP1. 1600x1200, 4xAA,16xAF performance texture mode) I built this PC over a year ago but only updated the HDD, Mobo and card a month ago. When testing a new aircraft I always use my default .stn which starts in cockpit mode and follows exactly the same autopilot path. All I did was change the default Baron to the Shrike and saved the new .stn. The reason I had not seen the frame rate problem before is the habit I have in switching from cockpit mode to spot view via the Shift+S keyboard switch rather than cycle through the various views. After the forced reboot I tried to reproduce the problem with all the panel mods (see below) and the two new textures and all is working OK.[Window00]gauge33=//fpda_gear_wind, 1,1,10,9[Vcockpit01]gauge14=//fpda_gear_wind, 1, 1 ,10,9[Vcockpit05]gauge00=//fs9gps!gps_500, 1,1,578,578[Vcockpit06]gauge00=//ST_500!ST_Compass, 5,10,538,538[Vcockpit07]gauge00=//ST_500!ST_OAT, 5,10,578,578The problem could well be due to a fault within my PC as although used extensively with FS2004 on a daily basis the updated computer has only had a month or so in use. (all the latest driver updates, SP1 and Dx9c but not SP2 yet)Thanks again for your latest aircraft release - another masterpiece!

Oh man, don't get me wrong about the other models, I am not being ungreatfull or anything, it was more of a "tongue in cheek" remark.I am EXTREMELY happy with ALL of the addons you have made, sorry if I sounded a tad ungreatfull :-(Dan.
