I'm upgrading to a new computer so I can move from FS9 to P3D. I really like RC4 and was wondering,1) if it works in P3D,2) does JD support its use in P3D. Is here any special procedures to take installing into P3D?

 

Also, I'm guessing I'll probably need a new registration key to install on my new machine - do I just email that request to JD directly? What info will he need?

1. RC has been tested by some users as compatible with P3D. Be sure makerwys.exe and fsuipc4 are current from the pinned links above. Make sure your paths to your .pln, .wx, and .flt files are correct especially when doing the scenery rebuild (and do run the scenery rebuild again after updating makerwys.exe). The RC installer will ask for the FS version. Just pick FSX. All it does is pick the folder name for RC.

 

2. You will need a new key. If your e-mail address and user name has not changed since your last key you can just apply via the automatic key request system. If you have had more than a few keys issued or your user data has changed the send an e-mail to [email protected] subject: user update and registration including in the body your old and current e-mail and user names. If you wish you can paste in the product code from the registration dialog including any "-" if present. State that this is a new pc installation.Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your ISP and PC spam filters.

 

When you receive your e--mail with the new key you can paste the key directly from that to the key area on the registration screen being careful no extra spaces, etc, are inserted before or after the key text as win is prone to do. ctrl-c is the win hot key for copy and ctrl-v for paste.

 

Manual processing of your new key may take a day or so especially on a holiday or weekend.
