Thanks for your suggestions guys, this is what I've done today (but still no luck)

I'm pretty sure I haven't deleted any default aircraft, I've got 27 MS aircraft in the sim, does that sound like a full house?

Yep, when I changed the config to "Situation=", it let me do it and the change was recorded. This is my start FSX "Fly now" screen.

I changed the "write" and "modify" permissions for the FSX folder, see pic:

As an aside, when I look at the FSX folder properties, the "Read Only" attributes box is shaded in, if I unshade it and click on Apply (inc folders/subfolders)it says it will "unset read only" wizzes throughout the files and appears to be doing it, but after its finished, if I click on properties, its still shaded in, not sure if this has any bearing on the issue? (Antivirus still off).

I uninstalled the C130 re-booted, and re-installed, all with UAC/antivirus off,but still no luck.

I've got aircraft from A2a/Caranado/CLS/Digital Aviation/Feel there/Wilco/Flight 1/Coolsky/Coolsky Mcphat/FSD/Iris/JBK/Just Flight/Level D/MilViz/PMDG/Realair/iFly and Captain Sim (707/727/737-100 737-200 737-200ADV) on the PC, and they all work.... Just Capt Sim C130... weird...

Will send my findings to Capt Sim and see if they can help.. from your suggestions, at least they'll know what it isn't - Thanks Guys

Read only folder attribute is just normal windows program folders, ignore. The write/modify on Users group looks good, at least you won't get trouble from addons read/writing there. Perhaps you have another aircraft installed or some modification to gauges or something strange like that. Perhaps copy your fsx.cfg, dll.xml, and exe.xml away safe and try without them, may just be something in there.

Thanks to all those that tried to help, in the end I contacted Capt Sim, who's first response was:

"Have you tried to repair your FSX Acceleration?"

I said no, but why would the other 150 aircraft plus their variants work OK, just the C130 crashes FSX?

The next reply is:

Neither ideal responses, don't think I'll buy Captain Sim again...

Eugene

wow, what a helpless response...!

Sorry to hear that pants reply.
