I've been developing this since I purchased the product on 2/13/2013. After reading several books and viewing several professionally produced videos, reading and flying the two tutorials, taking input from the tutor at Southwest Virtual Airline and reading the manuals. I hope this package helps someone. I included the .jpgs in order to illustrate to newbies where the controls are located but didn't include images in the actual guide so as to be concise.

I didn't take the time to enter every step you have to check ... just things you have to do from Cold and Dark to get the bird flying. IOW, if a switch was already in the required position when performing the actions in a particular step, I didn't include that in the document ... only things you have to do.

There are instructions on how to contact me in order to provide feedback, constructive or negative. I'm most interested in input on modifying the order in which things should happen from your perspective and why. One thing I already fixed is when to turn on all four window head switches. The biggest beef will, I'm sure, be when and why to turn on the specific lights. Most other things are dictated by the books, manuals and video information ... although I am not going to postulate that the order that these occur in, as they are depicted in the document, are perfect.

I use this with every flight and if done properly, I am never in a high and fast energy state when attempting to land at a strange airport ... your mileage may vary.

These files describe the steps required to bring the PMDG 737 NGX from Cold and Dark to takeoff to landing and finally back to Cold and Dark. The package includes:

1) 11 pages of "checklists" covering the following topics

a) Cold and Dark Startup

B) CDU Configuration

c) Cockpit Configuration (Pre-pushback)

d) Before Engine Start

e) Pushback and Engine Start

f) Takeoff

g) Descent Planning

h) Top of Descent

i) Descent (30-10nm)

j) Descent (10nm through Approach)

k) Landing

l) After Landing

m) Shutdown

n) Secure

2. Illustrations of the primary panels in the NGX

a) Forward Overhead

B) Aft Overhead

c) Flight Panel

d) EFIS-MCP

e) Throttle Quadrant

f) Aft Electronics Panel

3) A descent calculator that takes into account altitude change, speed change, head/tailwind ... gives a distance required to make the airport in nautical miles (Excel Spreadsheet).

4) Airport information "cheat sheet (Word Document)

5) ATC instructions woven into the document

6) ATC communication cheat sheet … where you can write down, in standard format, the information given and the information that needs to be read back to ATCs.

7) How to read CATII/III section of the approach plate.

8) Reasons why you cannot be too quick on the trigger to enter your runways, SIDS and STARS until you get clearance from ATC.

Looks pretty good to me so far. If you'd like, I can send you a whole bunch of ATC stuff, as your templates aren't exactly correct (USA-wise, anyway). Also, TOPCAT should not be used for fuel planning. The fuel estimator is only there to get a notional idea of how much the flight might have if you don't have better information available, yet.

Oh yea ... the more ATC stuff I can put in the document the better ... I also use another fuel planner http://www.fuelplanner.com ... which between the two works pretty well ... but you are correct ... TOPCAT said 11,500 and fuel planner said 12,138 for a trip from KATL to KMCO.

Correction ... that title is supposed to read 737-800 not 737-700 ... whooops.

Another mighty fine discovery ... I just downloaded the 30-day trial for Electronic Flight Bag from AivlaSoft (http://www.aivlasoft.com/products/index.html) and entered all of the checklists into that product. Now I can get rid of this paper checklist and bring them up at the press of a button ... all classified by the state of the flight currently (whatever it might be).

As soon as I test everything out I'll export these checklists and include them in the next update.

Cheers.

Thanks
