February 28, 201313 yr I'm only a newbie here but I've just uploaded 113 airfields and trotted over here for a look around. It occurs to me that I'm reading a lot of FS9 strings when I'm really only able to help with FSX. (I've forgotten a lot of the other). Would it be possible to have one forum for FSX and one for FS9? Alan
February 28, 201313 yr There already is a separate forum for FSX and FS9....unless there's something you're seeing that I'm not.... EDIT: Oops. Didn't see this was in the scenery design forum. I got confused and thought you were referring to AVSIM in general. My fault. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
March 1, 201313 yr Welcome to the AVSIM Forums! It sounds like you might be able to provide some valuable advice and assistance to fellow members regarding scenery designs and we appreciate any advice you can provide our membership. As you stated, you are a newbie and, by now, you should have been able to read most of the posts made in the past year. All you need to do now is to stay on top of the latest posts and we have an excellent method where you can follow a topic by clicking on the button in the upper right corner or there's a method where you can read the latest content (but encompasses all forums). Also, whenever you visit this forum all unread items will be highlighted so you won't have to go back and read items you have already read. There will be a * next to the item where you provided input so you can easily see where someone might have responded to one of your comments. There really isn't a lot of daily traffic in this forum and I don't think you'll have any problems keeping up. I think it is best we keep it this way as one forum for scenery design as some of the information regarding FS9/FSX is related. Again welcome! March 1, 201313 yr Commercial Member Alan, that's some prolific scenery creation there!! What with that many airports that you've created for the area that you live, I only wish you'd of lived closer to my corner of the world. Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
March 5, 201313 yr Author I was started off in modelling by the late Ian Thatcher using FS2002 and moved on from there. I try to use my own models as far as possible to keep everything in one library. I've always liked the API based models but had some adverse comments about them in other places so have tried to please everyone. I often get enquiries from design beginners and guide them until they cast me loose. I also have a page for beginners here because microsoft and some forums use fancy language and terminology and beginners need the big picture first. http://www.alanblenc...DesignPage.html
