Aborted engine start problem.

Featured Replies

I discovered the following behavior and would like to know if others experience the same and how to deal with it.

I was activating a Eng 1 EGT exceedance. After Eng 1 was starting it took some times until the EGT was actually rising, meanwhile the FO was already preparing the Flight Deck for taxing. I announced an EGT exceedance followed by the "Aborted engine start memory items" and the "Engine start lever cutoff" call. After putting the start lever into cutoff, the FO said his "memory items completed". I then called for the "Aborted engine start checklist" and nothing happened. I could see by the green bar that the command was recognized correctly.

I did another try. This time an Eng 2 oil pressure. It took once again some while until the pressure dropped again. But now everything worked correctly. I assume because FS2Crew was still in the "Eng Start" mode.

Bryan, from this behavior I assume that the aborted engine start items only work in the "Eng Start" mode?

That's correct.

That procedure would only be used during "engine start" and the FS2Crew engine start sequence needs to be running at the same time or the FO won't respond properly to the checklist (as you discovered).
