RC & Ultimate Traffic 2?

Featured Replies

Good Morning All,

I just bought UT2 and am wondering if RC will recognize traffic generated by UT2 for purposes of traffic avoidance, etc? From what I've read in the manual, it doesn't "see" default AI, but I can't find any reference (yet) to UT2. Anyone have this combination and know what the case would be?

Thanks much!

Glenn

Hi Glenn,

I have UT2 and apart from some odd occasions it works well with RC.

Wonderful! Thanks for this Norman. Much appreciated.

Radar contact recognises and "talks" to UT2 traffic, but as far as I know, it doesn't control it in any way. It does say things like "follow the 747" etc, but it doesn't tell you or the other plane to ever give way.

Same in the air, it warns you of the traffic but doesn't ask either to take action. You will also need to use AI Smooth to keep the traffic out of your way during approach.

Also, remember to check out the way to get RC to use the correct call signs for UT traffic. There are some old threads in these forums that you should check out.

In UT2 there is AFAIK a setting on how far from your aircraft to render ai. Set that to max so when RC examines ai's use of runways to assign your runway it gets the data in time. In RC ai runway use has top priority.

This also sets up the ai traffic pattern to stabilize for weather influences.

Great info - thank you! I'll check these options out for sure. Much appreciated.
