FSX Does Not Recognize GTX550 TI?

Featured Replies

I am replacing my old GT9500 with a GTX550 TI I picked up .  I did a clean install of driver 314.07.  My system works fine, until I start FSX!  I immediately get an error box stating the GTX550 TI does not meet mnimum requirements for shader support.  I have looked into everthing I could think of, just short of reinstalling FSX.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Guys!

I have the EVGA 550TI and have had excellent results with it in FSX and Lockon as to the problem your experiencing I would remove the driver and run a driver sweeper or registry repair tool then download a fresh up to date driver from the manufacturer or GeForce. Here's a link to a driver sweeper  http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html  Hope this helps . Best of Luck . Vecter

Is it possible you have the ENB series addin or something else demanding different shader support?

I guess that you have removed all remnants of the old card from fsx.cfg? Better still build a new cfg file as well as the above. Have you run DXDIAG to make sure there are no errors?

May be worth runnuinf sfc /scannow at a command prompt.

Fresh reinstall of the driver.
