March 12, 201313 yr I'm having an intermittent problem with my Alienware Aurora. My monitor is going into sleep mode all of a sudden (goes black), and I have to turn off the PC to get it to work again. I'm now trying a new video cable, and will try another monitor next. I have just cleaned it out, so I don't think heat is an issue.I have 2 NVidia GTX295 cards now. If it turns out one of the cards is bad, what would be the recommended NVidia replacement cards that would work well for FSX? I'd like ones that would basically be an easy install, and would not take much technical knowledge to put in.

March 12, 201313 yr Author LOL. Yep, that's why I axed. Get two! Well, I had no idea they went that high. How bout at least 1/2 of that?
March 12, 201313 yr I have the EVGA 670 FTW 2GB card and I love it. I upgraded from a 560ti and I can play FSX with almost max settings except Autogen, that stays at Very Dense, and run fine. Texture loading is a LOT faster. Also, I can run Assassins Creed full max, and almost full max on Crysis. Your CPU will effect your performance also in relation to mine, but I would go for the 670 or 680. William Sequeira
March 12, 201313 yr You can get a new EVGA 680 for 469.00. It should blow you 295 sli out of the water. They seem to have plopped the price on them sense the Titan was released.
March 12, 201313 yr Author To go from a 2 card SLI to one card, do I just take out the 2 cards and replace with the new one? Is anything else involved?
March 13, 201313 yr Basically yes. Though Ive never gone from 2 to 1. Make sure to check your MB PCI slot and put the one card in the PCIe 16X _1 slot. Ive made that mistake. I would install new driver for the card your putting in making sure to choose the option to remove the old driver.
