Runway Lighting

Featured Replies

I have a problem with the runway lighting where it makes the runway appear green/purple and very low res. I feel like I have tried everything to fix this and I have not been able to find the solution online. The attached image is a fresh copy of FSX with nothing but the NGX SP1 installed. Windows and FSX are both up to date, all other addon/default aircraft do not have this problem.

Specs:

Windows 7

i7 2600k

MSI GTX 670 (Same thing happens with my ATI card)

16GB RAM (tested)

Resolution: 1920x1080 - I have tried lowering it, running multiple and single monitors, and windowed and full screen in FSX.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem! Thought it was just me - no idea how to fix it so any help here would be great

What are your system specs? Maybe it is something we are both using.

OCZ 256GB Solid State

nVidia 570 GPU

Tried lots of different things just like you to no avail. I dont have any addons for lighting bar REX - could it be a REX runway lighting issue?

I haven't had any luck with or without REX. I made an improvement by using the 4xS version in the Nvidia Config Guide http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/

I also found a thread on a different website that has users mentioning a problem at night with Nvidia and Samsung monitors. I am using a BX2250.

Side effect of the lights actually illuminating the surface it is on. FWIW Dell monitor here.

I am also using a Samsung monitor - come to think of it I did not have this problem with my previous monitor - perhaps this is the cause? Weirdly it only happens in FSX at night with the NG - every other aircraft/game is fine - which is strange if its hardware related

Very interesting, I will PM the thread I found (not sure if I can post it here). I have an Acer monitor I will try tomorrow.

Can someone post a pic of this with the new Dell Monitor?

I also see this with the QW 146, Aerosoft huey (search light) aswell as the ngx.

They all have the new lights that light the object up that the light beam is on.
