Engine sound even though they're off

Featured Replies

When loading the flight in FSX is completed I always choose cold and dark via the FMC. I wait for the systems to be initialized and everything's just fine. But when I go into the external view afterwards and then go back to the virtual cockpit I hear the engines as if they were running with full thrust.

I have encountered this problem already during my very first flight with the NGX but did not really care about it since I can easily avoid it by not exiting the virtual cockpit after selecting cold and dark. It's pretty annoying, though. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

When you go back into the cockpit, hit the "Q" button twice. It's a known FSX issue. The Q button will cycle the sound and resync.

It is kind of bizarre...  never had that problem till a new system using Win7... maybe something to do (also) with onboard sound.   :unknw:

Never had OOMs either with WinXP x64Pro but again... a couple with Win7 x64 in the past few months... just weird.
