I've been having issues lately trying to get any historical dates I am trying to download. Tonight 12:42 CST I am trying to download weather from Thursday the 21st at 4PM and after it downloads and does its thing, the metars all read the 18th. I then tried download weather from the same time for the 20th and same result, metars reading the date of the 18th. In the past few weeks it seems like some days of historical weather are just blank, like nothing was ever recorded for those days and the weather just defaults to another date and time from what I downloaded.

 

I know that you guys have been having some server issues of late, but it seems the problem has been happing on and off for the past few weeks. No problem getting the current weather though, that is working fine, but if I want to go back in time, it seems to be not be working anymore. Been using AS2012 since release and historical has never failed me until recently.

Well tonight I tried downloading weather from 3-21 at 21:00 GMT and it still didn't work. It says it downloaded the weather did the decompress and all that other stuff, but after I wait about 5 minutes and check the Wx report screen the metar still reads todays metar and info. Also I noticed that when I went into the AS2012/Weather folder the download for the historical is only about 115kb were as most of my downloads are about 650kb. Seems that something is not working correctly for some reason.

 

I tried another one, downloaded weather from 3-1 at 17:00 GMT and it seems to have worked and the Wx file download was about 567kb. The WX report screen also updated on this try. So I am wondering if there are certain days where there are holes in the historical weather downloads and that is why the one I tried for 3-21 doesn't work?

 

I did one more test. I downloaded 3-23 14:00 GMT and it seems to have worked ok, but the download was only 305kb. When I went into the WX report and check some stations like KDAL it was updated to the one I downloaded as well as some other airports read metars from 3-23 around that time, however some airports were reading were still displaying the WX download I tried prior for 3-1.

 

As one last try I set AS2012 to download up to date weather then closed the program. When I reopened it it download all the current weather as it should. I then tried downloading 3-23 14:00 GMT. After the download was completed and updated I checked KDAL in the WX report screen it it was correct, but then i checked KORD and it was still displaying the current 3-24 weather rather than the one from 3-23. Some stations had the metar from 3-23 and some stations were reading the original current weather from the initial download.

 

Not sure what is going on.

Will do Damien. I will try it out again tomorrow night. I was thinking it was something specific to my install of AS2012 but since its not one of those things that you make changes to like FSX, I was hoping it was more to do with the servers like you mentioned, especially since it has just started cropping up lately.

 

Anyway, if I have more issues after tomorrow night I will go ahead and open a ticket.
