this my first time posting here at the forum!

 

So today my computer got diognosed with the malware infecton virus. The laptop person who i got to diognose the problem recomended a complete reinstall of windows. He told me to back up my hardrive as the re install will take my laptop back to factory settings resulting in i would loose everything.

 

The problem is the pmdg 737 ngx

 

If i back up the ngx and then once my computer is reinstalled and i go to reinstall the ngx what will happen?? will my serial code still work? do i ask for a support ticket ???

If this is your first re install  you should be ok to do this with no issues.

 

When you downloaded the 737NGX, did you keep the actual download in a separate directory? If so, then copy this to a thumb drive before your computer is repaired. If you have any third party software, you might want to do the same if you downloaded this as well. Then simply reload from this when you sort out your computer issues. You would then use the original registration key you received with the download for the install. If you did not keep the original download, then you will have to request PMDG for a re-download. I am not sure about the length of time you are allowed to freely download again from a standard download. If you paid for an extended download, then you have 12 months, as I recall. If you loose everything, and can't reinstall the NGX, which happened to me due to a PC failure and no backups, for a small amount of money the Extended Download that PMDG offer was well worth it. I was back up and flying straight away.
