Keyboard / Yoke assignments not working

Featured Replies

Can anyone help please. I am having problems with my keyboard and yoke assignments (FSX Windows 7 64 bit, Saitek Yoke+TQ + RP).

While the standard keyboard assignments work ok i.e. F6, F7  for Flaps etc etc, I cannot successfully program any new assignments, both on the keyboard or Saitek yoke buttons. The biggest problem this is causing is using VoxATC, where to Transmit, I have to use the space bar, which also appears to have to also have other functions, so it means I have to repeat my voice transmissions to ATC several times before I get a response due to the interference.

Using Settings>Controls>Buttons/Keys I have assigned Caps Lock on the keyboard to be the Transmit function, but without success and having assigned the Saitek yoke in the Controller Type tab, have unsuccessfully assigned button 1 to Transmit voice from the yoke. The assignments likewise show up in the FSX Settings>Controls list but just doesn't work in practice.

The yoke works fine in default, ie banking, trim, views etc etc, but despite assistance from Seitek tech support with latest drivers etc, I just cannot assign buttons on it successfully.

I also have EZCA. In the camera configuration UI, it sees and records my key depressions for the various camera positions when I depress all ther different keys on the Seitek Yoke and Throttle Quadrant just fine, they save against a profile name just fine, but in reality nothing happens when you come to use them while flying. That means EZCA is useless at the moment.

I don't think its the Seitek hardware, which functions just fine in default settings and key depressions on thie Saitek hardware are being seen by the PC and EZCA in configure mode as described above, and in any event, the keyboard re-assignments don't work either, so it feels like its something to do with FSX and the execution of any configuration changes I'm making - both keyboard and Yoke?

I have installed FSUIPC but done nothing with it (should I have in this instance?) - is that my problem?

Any advice would be most gratefully received!

Andrew
