March 27, 201313 yr Do you guys know what this pink line on the terrain display mean? I was flying near Fiji (180 W)
March 27, 201313 yr Im not sure but it could be water? Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
March 27, 201313 yr The blue is water, the magenta is a color I haven't seen before on the Terrain Display. Name available upon request
March 27, 201313 yr I found this statement for one type of EGPWS: "If no terrain data is available in the terrain database, then this area is displayed in a low-density magenta color." That could explain why the magenta area is so well-defined. I don't know anything about this display but should water be shown when flying at 30,000 ft? Dugald Walker
March 28, 201313 yr Yeah I get this when heading to Hawaii from Fiji way, it lasts for most of the trip, just empty pacific ocean which the EGPWS has no data on. I don't know anything about this display but should water be shown when flying at 30,000 ft? Yes, if you have the show water option on. Jay Vorkapic
