March 28, 201313 yr Hi So slowly and surely I'm getting better at repainting. My question now is how do you guys add weathering and dirt when there's no paint kit, or when the paint kit has no weathering and dirt? I'm just looking to add some simple dirt and maybe some signs of age or rough use. Thanks Lee Edit: Also where is a good place to get aviation related logos and the like? Thanks again
April 9, 201313 yr Weathering and dirt, don't get me started... Generally I paint it... in lots and lots of different ways, but you can also use dirt from other models if you don't want to make it yourself Also, I usually make a bare metal layer underneath the paint layer, and make holes and scratches in that overlying layer, so the metal shines through a bit or a lot also, check here for inspiration. Weathering often takes me longer than than the actual paint: For logos, I find that Google works best. All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2
