September 19, 200421 yr Author But please tell me that you are comparing to 15000 RPM SCSI drives or something or I think you all are high on shrooms! It
September 19, 200421 yr I have IDE drive in another PC and absolutely do not think my Raptor is any noisier, and I definitely can't hear those 10,000 RPM. Sorry, my hearing is very good - recently passed 3-rd class medical ;-)Michael J. Michael J.
September 19, 200421 yr "So your experience is SCSI drives or I think you are all half deaf"No, all I'm saying is that they don't sound "noisy" to me.What you're arguing here is semantics, not technical issues. If you'll review my posts on this subject you'll see that I state more than once that I don't think the Raptors are particularly noisy. Simple as that. If they seem to be to you, then so be it.Bottom line is... even if they are a bit noisier than standard IDE 7200RPM drives they certainly offset that with their performance. I simply would not enetertain the idea of going back to the slower drives.Cheers, :-beerchug Greg
