I have IDE drive in another PC and absolutely do not think my Raptor is any noisier, and I definitely can't hear those 10,000 RPM. Sorry, my hearing is very good - recently passed 3-rd class medical ;-)Michael J.

If you'll review my posts on this subject you'll see that I state more than once that I don't think the Raptors are particularly noisy. Simple as that. If they seem to be to you, then so be it.Bottom line is... even if they are a bit noisier than standard IDE 7200RPM drives they certainly offset that with their performance. I simply would not enetertain the idea of going back to the slower drives.Cheers, :-beerchug Greg
