March 30, 201313 yr Hi Guys new to saitek stuff as I have always used ch products wondering if saitek icons in taskbar have to be there all the time - wondering why they are there thanks guys. Rich Sennett
March 31, 201313 yr I believe they are put there if you install the SST programming software. I remember that happening years ago when I first bought a Saitek controller. I quickly realized it was more trouble than it was worth, and totally unneccesary, and never used it again for the ten years I used Saiteks. /Russell.

March 31, 201313 yr Rich, if you don't use the SST to programme your controller, uninstall it, then assign all your axis, switches and buttons directly through FSX, or, better still, through FSUIPC (payware version) if you have it. /Russell.
March 31, 201313 yr Author I use gamebooster to shut it down it does work with sst not in sys tray cool thanks - not brave enough to uninstall it yet as took a bit to get everything working esp in ngx which I use spad works great - I have cessna trim wheel - radio panel - cessna flight yoke - switch panel so all is working well don't want to rock the boat all is configured in fsx Rich Sennett
March 31, 201313 yr Well, as long as you've got rid of the icons, I think you are right to leave well alone. Glad you got it sorted. /Russell.

Until I deleted all mappings in FSX and set up everything through FSUIPC, I had continous problems with loosing my controls and having to remap when changing between NGX, J41 and MD-11. After FSUIPC everything is well, and much smoother, as you can change the axis curves and sensitivity individually per acft profile in FSUIPC so it reflects the handling better.
March 31, 201313 yr Author Yup sorted out and if it's not broke don't fix it lol - thanks guys. Rich Sennett
