OK, I know it may sound odd, but I have never used the slew feature in FSX, only because I've never found the need to. But now I want to sort out the Ezdok camera vibrations once and for all, and it's difficult not to have a slew function to test with. OK, so maybe I'm doing something wrong... I thought I had to hit the Y key, followed by F1, F2 and so on. But, no matter what keys I hit, apart from the Y key, which pauses the sim, nothing else works. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I need to do something else? Cheers guys...

Hi, I had this problem a few years back, I might be wrong but from memory if you are pressing Y to slew and the sim is then pausing, then try simply hitting P to unpause it and then you should be back in slew mode. Then next time you should be able to go in and out of slew just by pressing Y.

 

It should say slew at the bottom of the screen when in slew mode, also when I slew I do not use f1 etc to move around but I use the cursor keys i.e. up down left right arrow keys,

This is correct. No need to hit "P" as that Pauses you in Slew Mode.

 

I use my keypad on the keyboard (don't know about the F keys)... turn the NumLock OFF first. Rather than explain each key, you will see in moments what each does. Except "5" which zero's out all other strokes entered. E.g. you can be slewing forward and yawing at the same time. "Q" is incr. Altitude, Z is decrease Alt.

 

I only see SLEW when in full screen mode. (lower right). Both cases (full / windowed) the lat / long stuff pops up (upper left).
