And now the opportunity to pick up a refurb with the following specs has come up... 500$ cheaper too.

i7-3930k @ 3.9

1TB HDD

8GB DDR3 1600

1.25 gig GTX 560 ti.

I'd be loosing the 660 and SSD, but gaining the 3930k and about 500 bucks. Soooooo, yeah... Here I am with this decision.

FSX is an expensive hobby, but worth it if you look at how expensive other hobbies can be, like flying an airplane for fun!

I like AS2012 textures, and its weather engine is the best imo.

UTX and GEX go great together.

Any airports you can buy from FSDT, Flytampa, Aerosoft, Simmarket, etc. All AES compatible are great!

My favorite AC are Carenado 208 w/ Reality XP flightline gauges, dual GNX430's, and a WX500. PMDG 737NGX, PMDG 747X, and Flight1 Pilatus PC-12.

I replaced my great CH Products with Saitek Yoke, 2 throttles, and pedals. Really love them more than the old CH.

At least you're consulting these forums before your computer purchase. Too many people spend lots of money on a system only to find out later that its not optimized for Fsx LOL. As for add on payware, PMDG is pretty much the best there is when it comes to aircraft. As for scenery, I'm waiting for ORBX systems to release FTX Global and combining it with UTX.  I would also look at getting a couple of payware airports if possible for the airports you're most familiar with. I fly weekly between KSTL and KMDW and have the payware airports for each (Taxi to gate St Louis Lambert field and Fly Tampa Chicago Midway Airport). I then load real nav data obtained from such free sites like Flightaware and employ a good payware weather engine like ActiveSky and away I go. I must confess that I've been using PMDG NGX in a Southwest livery almost exclusively the last couple of months. Yes, this hobby can get expensive!

of course I'm checking with this forum! a few guys here basically.built my last tower. PMDG is a must for me. I can't even begin to fathom how many hours I had flown their 737 on fs9. Their 737 was my primary aircraft, the lds 767 was a close second.

The ngx will definitely be my first purchase, there is no question about that. I might even order it tonight just to speed things up a bit when my tower comes in... Time is of the essence, people.. :)
