Procedure Turn

Featured Replies

Toncontin Honduras? This is an instrument approach to break through cloud to a minimum altitude at which point you circle to land. No straight in approaches here.

The whole procedure turn has to take place above 8000ft. Only start decending to 6700ft once established on the 018° inbound radial when you are closer than 7DME.

at 5DME you should still be at 6700ft or above. 5700ft till visual (or when overhead TNT VOR you go around if not visual).

Once visual establish a tight visual approach. How tight?

About this tight:

There's no Autopilot modes that are going to help you below 5700ft.

Actually, that VOR DME approach is useless, that AA at videoclip is performing RNAV app.

The problem is that RNAV contain few RF legs impossible to fly with NGX (Actually, you can fly some similar path via HDG SEL, but lets face it -that's not RNAV).

to be honest trying to fly this one by hand and actually achieving it spot on, actually feels like a huge achievement
