April 9, 201313 yr Hey all... I emailed the Irish Aviation authority today with what I think is an error on one of their current charts. Hi, I'm an interested simulation amateur and was consulting the freely available charts for dublin airport when I noticed what *I think* is an error on the CAT A/B SID plate for EIDW RWY 28 located online at :http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/Published%20Files/AIP%20Files/AD/Chart%20Files/EIDW/EI_AD_2_EIDW_24-9_en.pdf The error I believe, is that the waypoint DWS80 is indicated as measured from DAP Collinstown VORTAC, whilst all other waypoints are measured on that from chart either DUB Dublin or BAL Baldonnel VORTACs, both of which have their position and frequencies noted. On this chart the information for the DAP VORTAC is not listed or noted on the chart itself. Can you tell me if this is in fact an error, or I am in some way reading the chart wrong. Have a nice day. Am I correct in this error? opinions? Cheers Alan
April 11, 201313 yr So what's actually wrong with it? It's measured from a different VOR but is this an issue? http://www.ourairports.com/navaids/DAP/Dublin_VOR-DME_IE/ It is unlikely a pilot flying this route would not take the time to find/would not be given this information before attempting to fly this SID. April 12, 201313 yr Commercial Member DAP is the COLLINSTOWN VORDME at the end of the runway on a frequency of 111.2. Not an error that I can see as there's not enough visual spacing on the plate to support showing the runway locations as well as the VORDME itself. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
April 12, 201313 yr That was my thinking. It's unnecessary to mark it on in my opinion, they have stated which VOR to use and there is limited space on the diagram. It's also possible that ATC vectors to final take over before that stage which sometimes happens even at airports with published STARs and transitions. James Bennett
