April 11, 201313 yr Very interesting feature in today's Annapolis Capital newspaper profiling Philip VH Weems, a pioneer in navigation, inventor or co-inventor of many navigation tools and aids still in common use today in aviation and maritime. http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/local/navigation-luminary-weems-featured-in-new-smithsonian-exhibit/article_25ea2046-68de-5ddc-96b6-f41beae0390e.html Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. April 11, 201313 yr I still use my E6B today. They have all kinds of tablets and apps now but I say old tech is good tech. Great exhibit and recognition. Cheers Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
April 11, 201313 yr Author I too still use an E6B. It is still intuitive. An incredible work. Belittles the slide rule and abacus! I also have a Sporty's electronic E6B calculator that I use to check the results I get from my wheel version... LOL I was not aware of Weems until I started reading the article (Capital is my local paper), but then I became fascinated by it. Remarkable that the Navy mid-shipmen to this day use a similar tool he developed for maritime use.
